Michelle Meares

Family Lawyer

Michelle is passionate about helping people and goes out of her way to assist her clients to make informed decisions about their matter.  Michelle recognises that people involved in Family Law disputes can be incredibly stressed.  For this reason Michelle communicates clearly, takes time to really listen to her client's needs and individual circumstances and helps her clients understand their options in simple terms. Michelle attended the University of Southern Queensland where she attained her Bachelor Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Anthropology in 2003. Michelle then went on to complete her Bachelor of Laws at the University of New England in 2014 and has practiced in Compensation, Family Law and Wills & Estates since that time.

Michelle is a member of a number of NSW Law Society Committees including the Family Law Committee (2019 to 2020), the Ethics Committee (2020), The Law Society Privacy and Data Law Committee (2017 to 2020) and has presented at conferences on data retention and Family Law Proceedings, Technology Facilitated Stalking and Privacy and Cyber-Security issues for Legal Professionals. She is also a member of the Hunter Valley Family Law Practitioners' Association and Women Lawyers' Association of New South Wales.Michelle is the Secretary of the Central Coast Law Society and the Secretary and a Board Member of digital rights organization Electronic Frontiers Australia Inc.  Michelle was a finalist for Regional Lawyer of the Year in the Women Lawyers' Association of New South Wales Awards.


Michelle's priority is making sure her clients understand their rights and legal options available to them. Michelle communicates clearly, in simple terms and welcomes questions from her clients.  She strives to resolve disputes without Court intervention.  However, she is a skilled advocate with a strategic approach to guide her clients through complex legal matters.
Michelle joined Brazel Moore Lawyers in 2020 and has become our Family Law and Compensation Practice Team Leader.

 

Sue

Family Law Paralegal

Sue has had over 10 years experience as a secretary in the Family Law and has been with Brazel Moore Famly Lawyers since October 2017.

Sue provides a wide range of support to the Brazel Moore Family Law Team and clients. Sue has extensive experience in preparing court documentation for Local Court, District Court, Family and Federal Circuit Courts of Australia.

Motivated to helping others Sue is one of your first points of contact with the Family Law Team at Brazel Moore Family Lawyers and is committed to ensuring that each clients’ matter runs smoothly from start to finish.

Bonnie

Family Law Secretary

Bonnie finished her HSC in 2017. She joined Brazel Moore Lawyers in January 2018 as an Office Administrative Assistant. Bonnie’s dedication, efficiency and friendly nature have enabled her to transition to working full time as a Junior Family Law Secretary. Bonnie’s excellent organisational and communication skills allow her to assist clients to a high standard.
